OYTAŞ-YILDIZ İNŞAAT, which manufactures industrial projects suitable for many sectors, has been continuing its work for more than 30 years with the knowledge and experience of its founder and chairman of the board, Civil Engineer Osman Yıldız. The company, which has manufactured more than 500 factory facilities to date, continues its work in Bursa's new industrial zones. Producing smart, ecologically efficient and durable structures, Oytaş Yıldız İnşaat benefits from the knowledge of many different disciplines in its technology-based works. Osman Yıldız, who brought high value-added buildings to the city, emphasizes that scientific inspections regarding earthquakes have become stricter. We talked about the future of Oytaş Yıldız İnşaat and Bursa, with its employment of more than 250 people.

- Dear Osman Yıldız, you were preparing a project for TOSAB(Textile Organized Industrial Zone)in 2023. Has this project been completed?

We are doing our project, which we started in TOSAB, located next to Badırga, for Altın Boya company. In this project of 14,000 square meters, we are making the foundations and on the other hand, we have started to install the prefabricated structures. Our two-storey building was designed as a textile dyehouse. The first floor of the dyehouses is made high. It is a necessary engineering work in terms of ventilation. In this project, as in all our projects, we work by taking into account all necessary scientific data and technological developments.

- Do you use other disciplines beyond engineering when carrying out factory construction?

Of course we are applying. When constructing a factory, it is necessary to take many sectors into consideration. Factories built for a single sector have a short lifespan. For example, more specific studies are required for dyehouses. It is necessary to build 3-4 thousand tons of water tanks in these facilities. Many disciplines work together in construction, from finance to ground surveys, from sociology to engineering. You have to know because the slightest mistake can cause irreparable damage. Of course, we should not forget technology. Companies that do not benefit from technology are bound to disappear.

- You successfully manage OYTAŞ - YILDIZ İnşaat, one of the leading building production companies of our city. Do you have any new projects or ongoing work?

We are planning 120 industrial shops for Durmazlar Holding in the Başköy region. This project, which will be completed on an area of ​​120,000 square meters, will consist of blocks and will be positioned as a trade center. This project, which has a highway entrance, was designed considering the growth direction of Bursa. Apart from this, we are building a 15,000 square meter factory for a big brand in TEKNOSAB, which is being established in Badırga, on the Izmir Road of Bursa. We are also building a different factory in TEKNOSAB. It is a factory that will work on textiles. Products imported from China will now be made here. We also carry out factory manufacturing for an organization that will operate in the Defense Industry. There is factory project production in Bursa, further than housing, and I believe that this production will continue in the future.

- In your opinion, is there a sound monitoring system regarding seismicity?

Especially static projects are monitored very closely. Getting a license is not as easy as it used to be. Inspection is carried out from 8-10 locations and all processes are examined one by one. Chamber approvals are now required for every project. Then, approvals are received from Building Control. After passing through the municipality, you need to carefully filter your project through your own filter. In the past, concrete samples were not controlled as strictly as they are today. Everything is now much better controlled with the electronic concrete and iron monitoring systems implemented by the Ministry. You don't even see the results of the concrete samples. If there is a problem, the necessary precautions are taken upon the letter received and it is sent for re-inspection. Of course, these are very good developments. This inspection puts both manufacturers and construction owners at ease.

- You are known as the manufacturer of reliable factories and workplaces with quality designs. Are Oytaş-Yıldız İnşaat's housing or villa projects continuing?

We started to build a villa project on our own land. We built 6 villas in Çağrışan. At the very beginning, 4 villas were sold. Now we have two more villas left. People know that we will do the right thing, both in terms of the project and the construction quality, and thankfully, they showed interest in this project. We had manufactured housing before. However, as you know, we did not set out specifically to build residential or villa projects. Oytaş's area of ​​expertise is industrial structures, as we mentioned at the beginning.

- What kind of sensitivities do you prioritize regarding energy in the buildings you produce? How do you benefit from technology when producing structures? Do you take innovations into consideration when building smart buildings and sustainable businesses?

One of the most important requirements of the age is technology. We build smart buildings thanks to technologies that develop day by day. The structures that protect employees against fire or work accidents are fully equipped with technological infrastructures. We also build green buildings. By combining two concepts in the same pot, we design long-lasting factories suitable for the age. We ensure that all materials, except concrete, are recyclable. We carry out green building works in the Silver, Gold or Platinum categories. Likewise, we are taking a position to install solar energy systems on the roofs of factories to save energy. Because solar energy is a very important resource and must be used.

- Mr. Yıldız, what do you think about the concepts of 'sustainability' and 'innovation', which are closely examined by everyone globally? Do you include these concepts in your work?

This is an issue about the future. As Oytaş Yıldız İnşaat, we are trying to take steps compatible with the future. My son has done important work in this regard. He became a Civil Engineer. After his master's program in London, he received his diploma in Construction Management. Now he works in our company. This concept means planning buildings in the most efficient way. For us, designing factories that are economical, durable and high-tech means embracing the concept of sustainability. When we look at the work of Oytaş Yıldız İnşaat after 20 years, we want to see that we took the right steps. That's why we have started our work today in order to become a brand that carries out both innovative and sustainable works.
